The Lucid Air Luxury Sedan
Lucid Motors has finally given us a substantial look at the new Lucid Air luxury sedan. The Lucid Air was debuted at a special unveiling event in Fremont, California on December 14th. The Air will start being rolled out in 2018. Lucid plans to produce 10,000 of these cars within a year with the goal of reaching 60,000 production cars in the near future. They are hard at work building a factory in Arizona, in order to fully accomplish their objective.
Stats For The Lucid Air
The Lucid Air comes with a 100kWh battery and has an up to 400 mile range. The vehicle has two electric motors that output 1000 horsepower and it can go from 0-60mph in 2.5 seconds. This puts the Air’s acceleration on par with the Model S. With extra emphasis on luxury, Lucid Motors designed the Air to be spacious and comfortable. The two rear seats are heavily padded and even recline.
Luxury comes at a price, but Lucid has yet to name it officially. However, Lucid Motors says we can expect around $100,000 and $160,000 based on options. A certain number of Launch Edition cars will be available for the larger price and a decreased range option can be ordered at the lower price. Lucid is currently taking deposits.
