2017 Audi Q8 Hybrid SUV Sport Concept
The new Audi Q8 concept combines a 6 cylinder engine with an electric powered compressor and regenerative system. In the future, this combination will be used in many Audi models,” says Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management at AUDI AG.
The combined output of these systems totals 476hp and 516lb ft of torque. The Q8 goes from 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds, an impressive feat for an SUV, and has a top speed of 170mph. Performance is easily increased by the recuperation process and energy recouped is used to create a sporty reaction at any speed or rev range. Planning to go on a long road trip? Hate stopping for gas? No Problem. The Audi Q8 has a range of about 745 miles.
This sporty SUV also has plenty of space for passengers and luggage. According to Audi, the rear-seat passengers have ample head and shoulder room. A head-up display is a star feature for the new Q8. The Audi virtual cockpit uses large touch screens and even displays information onto the windshield. For example, a navigation arrow appears in the same position as an actual arrow on the road. Important notifications can also appear on the head-up display. Just how clear is the virtual cockpit? It has a resolution of 1,920 x 720 pixels, which is similar to a 5th generation iPhone, and even contains 3D features.
The Audi Q8 is a promising new hybrid SUV. We look forward to hearing feedback from consumers.
