Faraday Future’s FFZero1
When it comes to automobiles, we live in exciting times. Faraday Future’s FFZero1 is a prime example of this. It highlights the top notch innovation helping electric cars find their place among us. Not only has Faraday built a beautiful, seamless super car, but they have maximized their creativity to bring us a forward-thinking, practical design. A design Faraday also plans to use as a platform for other models.
Nick Gronenthal, Creative Manager of Exteriors says “We asked our designers to abandon the past ways of thinking and build their own fresh, new vision.” This is a relevant idea, considering the newness of electric battery technology. After all, we no longer have bulky engines taking up the front nor long exhaust systems stretching along the undercarriage. The goal of starting fresh is not only plausible, but admirable. Faraday Future is calculating their steps, building a future, starting with the FFZero1.
Stats
The FFZero1 has four motors and a high performance race-bred suspension with advanced vehicle dynamic control and torque vectoring. This provides superior driving stability and uncompromised power. The vehicle produces over 1,000hp and can go from 0-60mph in less than 3 seconds with a top speed of more than 200mph.
A Car Designed For You
Faraday’s ambition has been to build a car with adaptive personalization. Apparently, this would include a smartphone app that connects to the vehicle’s data display. Live analysis of vehicle systems could be recorded and subsequently the vehicle configurations could be customized. Truly, this would be a highly innovative, yet logical, step forward for the cars of tomorrow. Imagine stepping into a car that is literally built for you!
A Practical Futuristic Design
Page Beermann, Chief Designer of Exteriors admits “A distinct ‘UFO line’ circles around the center of the sculptural body, creating an undeniable sense that this car is not of this world.” Add to that the NASA zero gravity inspired seating and futuristic dome. Though many concept vehicles through the years have mimicked futuristic designs, Faraday has provided very practical reasons for doing so. The zero gravity design displaces the strain of the vehicle’s velocity on the driver, providing a comfortable and weightless seating position. Perhaps one of the most exciting innovations are the air tunnels through a conduit that run the length of the vehicle. This is both stylistic and radically reduces drag. Yet another aspect of design possible through electric motor engineering.
You may have noticed how seamless the FFZERO1 aesthetics appear. Faraday’s design team sought to “create a strikingly clean, elegant, and pure way of conveying confident power”. In our opinion, they succeeded. The vehicle consistently blurs the boundaries between the interior and exterior, creating a sense of wonder and amazement. We can’t wait to see this car in production and we anticipate further designs from Faraday Future.
