The 2015 Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid is everything you’ve come to expect from Porsche and more. By more, we mean exceptionally eco-friendly. In fact, according to Porsche’s website not only is the Panamera 95% recyclable, it is made with “only innovative and environmentally friendly components”. Porsche’s concern for the environment extends far into the design as well, with an emphasis on practicality.

If you’re interested in stats, we have plenty. The 2015 Panamera S E-Hybrid is capable of going from 0-60 in 5.4 seconds, it has a top speed of 167mph and a rating of 50MPGe. The Panamera Hybrid is classified as a Parallel Hybrid. It can be powered by a combustion engine, an electric motor or by both working together. The high voltage battery can be fully charged within 2.5 hours using a standard 240V plug.

The Panamera Hybrid’s efficient balance is well thought out in its categorical driving modes. There are three drive modes to choose from based upon the customer’s current needs. E-Power can be set as standard, so that it activates automatically when the vehicle starts and remains in electric mode until manually changed, based upon need. This is an ideal situation for someone who frequently commutes around town and rarely has need to travel further than a few miles. E-Charge can be activated if a consumer is driving a longer distance and has need of using the fuel powered combustion engine. E-Charge can conveniently take advantage of the electric motor’s rest period by charging the high volt battery. If the end of the trip includes a drive through city streets this would provide an ideal situation to manually activate E-Power and use the electric charge that has been built. Last but not least, the Sport Mode employs both the electric motor and combustion engine to achieve maximum power and torque. By taking advantage of the electric motor, regenerative braking and an 8 gear Tiptronic gear shift, the Panamera is able to put out up to 416hp without fear of ‘guzzling gas’.

Clearly much thought was put into this eco-friendly model! We look forward to what else Porsche brings to the table in the near future.
