Aspark Owl – Japanese EV Hypercar Goes 0-60mph in 2 Seconds

Aspark Owl Hypercar Introduced at Frankfurt Auto Show

Word of the Aspark Owl hypercar has been circulating since as early as 2014, but this anticipated concept car finally showed up at this year’s Frankfurt Auto Show. The Aspark Owl debuted as a stunningly beautiful rendition of the modern supercar.

Not much is known about the new Japanese made EV. The Spark Owl claims a record breaking time of 0-60mph in 2 seconds, 430hp and 563 lb-ft of torque to all four wheel. To put this in perspective, the Tesla Model S P100D which is currently the fastest EV mainstream production model in the world goes 0-60mph in 2.23 seconds. At first glance this may seem like a steep competitor for modern EV supercars, however, add to the mix a 93mi range and you’ve got a supercar reminiscent of the original Tesla Roadster.

Tesla has come a long way since 2008, but it would appear that Aspark is still operating in the Victorian Era of EVs. We would expect a longer range from a cutting edge $3 million hypercar. With that said, the hypercar is still in concept phase and Aspark may offer more details and a longer range by the time it comes to fruition.

We hope that Aspark takes advantage of all those patents Tesla released or finds another way to keep up. The car dazzled at Frankfurt and may turn out to be quite attractive to hypercar collectors, given the right updates.
